T91S Flash Hider

Digging through my pics and I noticed the flash hider on the T91S that was shown at expos appears to have a portion of the front of it milled off. Has anyone else noticed this, and if so any idea what the logic behind it was?

IMHO,
the features of the flash hider are following...
Creates instant air flow to eliminate gas combustion and provides better gas dispersion.
Hides position at night after shot is fired.
Protects vision at night, and not blinded by own muzzle flash.
Possibly used as a wire cutter.

Answer found - it is for a quick detach suppressor that has grown out of the TX97 program. If you look at the pics of the 97 you'll see almost the same identical pattern. Anyone care to translate?

(Correction Welcome)
Top: Clearly shows it was direct milled out from standard flash hider.
Middle: These grooves build for Silencer installation.
Bottom: Remove and maintenance only.

It's actually XT-105 program. The XT-97 was interesting too because it has a quick change barrel and you can switch between 5.56mm or 9mm.
