Good morning all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. So correct me if this topic has come up before.

I am in the process for procuring parts for my T91 clone. All I need at this point is a barrel to swap the Wolf A1 sights. Has anyone done this with a measurement of success?

Thanks,
Kapono

Welcome here.
Depends on which front sight block you are going to use. With our 3rd Gen. front sight base you'll need a standard 0.750" gas port journal AR-15 barrel and match(gunsmith and lathe required) the gas port journal shoulder distance between old and new barrel. Drill gas port and barrel lock pin from pilot point.
There's several members here has done the conversion with T91 front sight block with success.

What commerically available barrel should we start with? Standard carbine barrels have gas port sections that are too far back. I guess I'd need something that that is .750 uniformly enough closer to the muzzle so that we could make a new gas port?

T91 utilize Mid-Length gas system which is about 0.5" shorter than standard AR-15 Mid-Length gas system (actual specs may vary due to every barrel mfg has slightly different specs.).
As for the AR-15 pre-drilled gas port, you can either block or leave it along. It shouldn't interference once T91 gas block pinned and drilled with 30 degree angle gas port.

Has anyone done this with a 10.5 inch barrel? The 12.5 factory T91 barrel is a pencil profile already, correct?
