Hand guard issue

Hello folks, after returning from the range, I noticed the heat shield on the lower hand guard could slide out. Is that normal or did the glue holding the heat shield to the hand guard melt? Do they use glue at all? Any ways, I only shot about 200 rounds Saturday and 1150 round through it's life.

The heat shield is not glued, and yes it can slide around. It's just held in by the shape of the lower handguard and the handguard retaining cap when installed.
