Has anyone found a quick release pin to replace the roll pin thsy connects the front sight halves? Is this a bad idea? The heat extremes might destroy a spring. Perhaps a cotter pin of sorts.

Just kicking it around a cotter pin might not give you a good lockup. Now a short bolt of the proper diameter and either flange or cap nut might be doable and keep things nice and tight when installed.
Is the front sight assembly a problem in your optic? If so what are you running?

Not a prolem yet, slght ghosting wirh my 3x ACOG on TA60 mount, but want to go lower for my small noggin.
Until the aftermarket cranks out a low-pro flip (MFI), i may run front sightless but keep it handy JIC. I woud need a tool-less field solution for attachment. No plastic parts.
What is the diameter and length of that hole?
Thanks, Scott
