Clone V2

I did a V1 clone with my own tracing for the text based on actual T91s. Not using any Chinese fonts which all don't match 100%. It was OK but now onto V2 with better engraving and the safety nubs removed.

V1 - Numbers and characters are a perfect match but the size, placement and engraving width and depth are not quite right.

V2 - Still working on it but the safety nubs have been removed from 2 lowers. I can reprofile the front lugs to be more like A1 but I don’t think it’s worth the effort. The A2 lower is close enough. It’s the engraving that makes or breaks it and some of the mass made ones out there are pretty bad with off the shelf free fonts.

Looks great, may I ask what type of equipment used for engraving?

Engraving was done on a tormach CNC mill with a fine tip spring loaded engraving tool. V2 will be deep laser.

Do you happen to have the file or even font that is used, I'm going to engrave and finish my clone this week.

There is no font. Mine is a total vector tracing from reference images. The v2 tracing for laser engraving isn’t finished yet. The photo from the first post is not laser and not the right size.

Engraving using my vector tracing of the main text. This is not a commercial engraving. This is my own because the commercial ones IMO aren't close enough.

Many hours of manual work because there is no magic bullet font (at least that can be easily found). Everything had to be hand traced based on photo reference. All the radii at the end of the strokes are perfectly round. All the lines are straight.

I have an 80% from atomic engraving, just dont know if I can trust myself to finish it. I've never done any machining in my life.
