Working on path to a T91 or T91S clone. Going with the 91S variant would be a lot easier though. Haven't decided yet, but I'm leaning towards the standard T91 build opposed to the 91S.
I started with a standard A2 lower with CAR15 stock (pictured is one of my Colt lowers).
I acquired a Brownell's A1 lower. Not 100% correct because of the markings, but the profile is "more" correct than a generic A2 lower. Didn't go the 80% route (machining it into an A1 profile) with engraving and finishing due to the budget I was working with.
Picked up a T91 pistol grip and assembled the lower. Using a mil-spec buffer tube and CAR15 N-type stock as a place holder until the T91 stock is available. Using a black-hawk rear sight as it appears to match the profile of this upper pretty well. Waiting on the T91 rear sight to become available. Looking to replace the selector with the T91 one too. I flipped the front sight tower around to match the domestic T91S sights as seen in the government press pictures.
Progress so far:
I've used it with a H buffer in the past and just picked up a H2 to try out.
T91 or T91S clone (in-progress)

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving holiday.
Making some further progress:
I decided to go the T91S route for the time being for several reasons:
1. Thicker barrel profile does not diminish accuracy
2. Easier to clone than the standard GI model.
Still waiting on proper selector and butt stock assembly.
This is turning into one of my favorite builds. I also call it my "Poor man's HK416," even though this gun predated the Germany's 416.
Unrelated, but one of my other build/clone project:

Another update after obtaining some long awaited parts. I decided to go the T91S route. Added is the correct T91 stock assembly and the new XT97 sound suppressor capable muzzle seen on T91S variants.
I'll pick up one of the magazines once it comes in stock.
