Has anyone successful removed the wolf A1 front sight/gas block? Got the pin out but that’s as far as I was able to go. The gas block is on the barrel solid, not moving at all with the pin removed.

Originally it was pressed on. I would recommend gunsmith or shop press. Same as install, shop press would be handy if you can get you hand on one.

There's another way which rubber hammer may involved but not recommended.

Yes my gunsmith is building a fixture for the shop press approach. There is a 50-ton press in the shop, will that be enough? He tried with a rubber hammer and it didn’t move at all.

50-ton press should get the job done. Really wondering why rubber hammer wouldn't move it at all.

Did he applied any lubricant in between? How many rounds has been fired on this upper?

My suggestion is: Remove the front sight post, drops some lubricant inside the front sight post port and between the gas block and barrel, wait 12-24 hours and try it again. If still not working, may need to heat it up a little bit.

No lub was used when the rubber hammer was used. This is the 14.5 inch upper with 200 rounds fired. Will let the shop know.
Any recommended gunsmith in your area? I am in north Texas.

I don't think you can just use a rubber hammer on it. You'll probably need a yoke like lever on the block and then hammer on the lever. Probably for the best not to even try that and just go with the press. Good to know this is a tough job before I do mine.

The 50-ton shop press did the job; the gas block was successfully removed. Now the hard thing is to install the MIL-style one with the press right.
